ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015 Accreditation

Mechanica Utilities Ltd are proud to announce the accreditation of both ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.

The company Directors chose Businessflow Ltd (www.businessflow.co.uk), to consult them through the process, with The British Assessment Bureau (www.british-assessment.co.uk) being the leading ISO certification body for the UKAS accreditation.

James Horsham (Managing Director for Mechanica) explained “both accreditations are important to the company’s growth, as they demonstrate we follow our policies and procedures. The Integrated Management System that we have adopted, means that ISO 9001 will improve our business efficiency and profit margins, which in turn will help us win and retain business, whilst ISO14001 will help us minimise the impact that Mechanica has on the environment, by managing and reducing our waste”.

Joe Thompson (Commercial Director for Mechanica) explained “whilst going through the audit process, it highlighted certain inefficiencies within our business, therefore allowing us to re-evaluate our operational procedures. The whole mechanism, from initial surveillance through to stage two auditing, was an extremely valuable process”.

Daniel Gunner (Engineering Director for Mechanica) explained “in achieving the accreditations it has enabled us to proceed with our ongoing investment programme, and roll out our latest job costing system (EMIR) six months earlier than planned. This will enable Mechanica to operate to its full potential and work hand in hand with both standards in a whole new level, to not only benefit us but more importantly benefit our customers”.

Since 1969 The British Assessment Bureau has provided their clients with an award-winning service based on confidence and trust. Their UKAS accreditation is a key part of the confidence that they can guarantee their clients. The accredited certificates all come with the coveted ‘Crown & Tick’ mark, underlining the security that only comes from Government-backed certification. All clients of the British Assessment Bureau can be confident that the accredited certificates will be recognised everywhere and are backed-up by the industry-leading money-back guarantee. This means that all companies can be confident that an accredited certificate from The British Assessment Bureau will meet all future supply chain ISO requirements home and abroad.

Businessflow are the “standards specialists”. They know that businesses who are certified will be able to secure both private and public contracts more easily. Businessflow provides, in addition to site visit support, the ability to access data remotely from their offices via NetViewer secure logon facility. This provides their clients with direct support when they require it, and also provides an environmental approach, reducing unnecessary travel as and when required. The consultancy support is audited by a registered UKAS certification body based on certification to ISO 9001:2015. This provides their clients with the confidence that their services are audited the same as their clients.

David Hall (Managing Director of Businessflow) explained “As a developing and dynamic service company, Mechanica required compliance to ISO 9001:20015 and ISO 14001:2015 to enhance their reputation in the marketplace and to ensure compliance. We were engaged to support the company during first quarter of 2017 providing specialist consultancy services to enable compliance to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. The company are supported by a strong senior management team with many years of experience in their sector. Commitment shown by the team during the ISO implementation was great and the whole company were ‘on board’. They received their certification award for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 during September 2017 and without any non-conformances being raised, which is testament to the company’s determination and dedication. Well one Mechanica!”.
