Mechanica Utilities Ltd Takes Over Burgess Marine, Dover
With the sad demise of Burgess Marine Limited (BML) in December 2017, the directors of Mechanica Utilities Ltd took the bold step of taking over the BML workshop facilities based in Dover.
This coincided with five former BML welders and fabricators remaining on site and in turn fully employed by Mechanica Utilities Ltd.
Mechanica Utilities Ltd now boast a full welding and fabrication workshop and machining service in house, of which sits nicely with the existing utilities business.
This move has also allowed Mechanica Utilities Ltd an opportunity to widen their portfolio to the Marine industry and have since successfully won work as far away as Argentina and Greece along with a number of ship repair projects in the British Isles.
As the marine business has shown solid growth, it was decided that a new company would be opened, hence the birth of Mechanica Marine Ltd, to give a clear indication to potential clients in the shipping arena.
With this in mind The Mechanica Group have re-branded with a new corporate logo that integrates both company names.
