Rodding Point Installation

Project Overview

The client contacted Mechanica to tender for the modifications of pipework to accept flush lines and rodding points. This modification was required by the client, due to the existing process pipeline susceptible to blockages and therefore requiring costly downtime and maintenance.

Project Workscope & Completion

Offering the best value solution, Mechanica were awarded the project. The first stage of the job was to pattern develop a template to allow the precision scalloping of the pipe. Once onsite, the templates were utilised to cut both the existing pipework and the new rodding points pipework. They were then TIG welded in to position, complete with the installation of gaskets/blanks. The flushing points were then drilled and fitted, utilising the same methodology, complete with ball valves and quick release connections. On completion of this project, all welds were passivated and cleaned, and pipework pressure tested to check the integrity of the welds, gaskets/blanks.
