Mechanica Successfully Renew ISO Accreditations
Mechanica Utilities Ltd are proud to announce the renewal of all their ISO Accreditations – ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), ISO 14001:2015 (Environment) and ISO 45001:2018 (Health & Safety).
James Horsham (Managing Director for Mechanica) explained “the ISO Accreditations are an extremely important part of the business operations, as they show the importance of our policies and procedures. The quality of our business services, our commitment to the environment, and the health and safety of everyone at Mechanica are so very important, and we like to think that these Accreditations demonstrate that to our clients”.
The ISO 9000 family of quality management systems (QMS) standards is designed to help organisations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders while meeting statutory and regulatory requirements related to a product or service. ISO9000 deals with the fundamentals of quality management systems, including the seven quality management principles upon which the family of standards is based. In particular, ISO 9001 deals with the requirements that organisations wishing to meet the standard must fulfill. Third party certification bodies provide independent confirmation that organisations meet the requirements of ISO 9001. At Mechanica, our chosen certification body is the British Assessment Bureau.
The ISO 14000 family of standards are related to environmental management that exists to help organisations minimise how their operations (processes, etc.) negatively affect the environment (i.e. cause adverse changes to air, water, or land); comply with applicable laws, regulations, and other environmentally oriented requirements; and continually improve in the above. ISO 14000 is similar to ISO 9000 quality management in that both pertain to the process of how a product is produced, rather than to the product itself. As with ISO 9001, certification is performed by third-party organisations rather than being awarded by ISO directly. At Mechanica, our chosen certification body is the British Assessment Bureau.
The ISO 45001 standard is an effective occupational health and safety management system will help Mechanica to protect and enhance our most important asset, our people, to drive business excellence. ISO 45001 is designed to prevent work-related injury and ill-health and to provide safe and healthy workplaces. As an international standard, ISO 45001 crosses geographic, political, economic, commercial and social boundaries. This sets a single benchmark for the management of occupational health and safety. ISO 45001 allows Mechanica to operate/trade internationally, working to a single standard which can simplify Mechanica’s business. ISO 45001 supersedes the previous ISO 18001 standard. At Mechanica, our chosen certification body is the British Assessment Bureau.
