Project Overview

The client contacted Mechanica to tender for the work to replace the existing covers, over the inlet channels to the PSTs, with new walk over covers complete with access hatches and additional safety features.

Project Workscope & Completion

Offering the best value solution, Mechanica were awarded the project. The client required two new cover sections, of which the operators could stand on with safe access into the inlet channels (for inspection of flow rates, level controllers and cleaning). Included within Mechanica’s design was the incorporated access hatch (600mm x 600mm) and a fabricated stainless steel safety grill, to prevent a possible fall into the inlet channels. All fixtures and fittings were supplied in stainless steel and a rubber seal was installed on the hatch lid to prevent odour or gas escaping. Again, the project was completed on time and within budget.
