Onsite Pump Refurbishment

Project Overview

The client contacted Mechanica to investigate and provide a solution to rectify two in-efficient pumps, that due to operational/network requirements, could not be removed from site for any period of time.

Project Workscope & Completion

Offering the best value solution, Mechanica were awarded the project. This started with the upfront procurement of two impellers and wear plates to suit the OEM/model of pumps. Mechanica then hired a contract lift crane and with an M&E confined space site team,both pump rotating elements were rigged/lifted from their volutes, and the old wear plates and impellers were unbolted/removed as required. The new impellers and wear plates were then fitted and the pumps commissioned. The above project was completed within one working day, during a three day dry spell, which ensured the client was not at risk and the work was completed within time and on budget.
